Hello again, I recently was in need of a bleach gel pen for the dirt ring inside the collars of my husband’s white tee shirts. If you are anything like me, I don’t buy bleach gel often enough to have it on hand, so i hit the internet looking for a solution to my problem. I was amazed to find a diy recipe for bleach gel with some simple items I had on hand already. Now this is the basic recipe that I found that works really well for me. I used some off brand lemon bleach that I had on hand and corn starch and water. Try it for yourself.

**The original recipe said 7-8 Tbsp but i used a little bit more because my husband sweats A LOT…

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup water
  • 3 Tbsp corn starch
  • 8-10 Tbsp household bleach**
  • Small pan
  • a plastic bottle to hold mixture

Instructions

  1. Mix water and corn starch together in a small pan. Bring to a boil, stirring continuously until mixture becomes translucent and pudding-like.
  2. Let cool. If you need to make it more than a few hours ahead of time, cover the pot with plastic wrap so it won’t dry out.
  3. Start adding bleach by the Tbsp, until you have the consistency and strength you desire. Gel will thin a little bit after sitting. Use as you would regular bleach gel.
